A question just came up among the girls at work about the ceremony and saying the vows. I mentioned that I wasn't sure if I wanted to be 'miked' during our vows so that everyone could hear us... am I making sense? I was just curious what everyone did or is planning on doing.

Dh was had a mic for the video But I dont remember there being any other mics anywhere, we def. did not hold one Everyone could hear us-well, i should say noone complained they couldnt hear us

I had a small ceremony indoors. It was not necessary.
Since I went to a few outdoors ceremony, I would strongly recomment one for that setting. It hard to hear every time. I wish they had had a Micr. for it.

I never gave this any thought....and I probably wouldn't have done it. Granted, I lost my voice...so NO ONE would've heard me anyway!

We just met with our Deacon on Saturday and he asked if we minded. The guest would just here us and not him--they are coming from all over the country and I feel that they should be able to hear the vows.

I WOULD LIKE TO WRITE OUR OWN VOWS. HOWEVER MY FH IS UNSURE IF HE WILL BE ABLE TO DO IT B/C HE IS WORRIED ABOUT CRYING IN FRONT OF EVERYONE (EVEN THOUGH HE WILL CRY REGARDLESS). IF NOT, I MIGHT WANT US TO WRITE A LETTER TO ONE ANOTHER THE NIGHT BEFORE AND READ IT TO ONE ANOTHER AT THE CEREMONY.

i don't really want to hold microphone but i want the guests to be able to hear our vows, thats why everyone is there. also if one of us makes a mistake thats okay it will become a cute memory of the ceremony

I HATE going to a wedding and then being unable to hear the vows. IMHO, that is what the day is all about and if you can't hear, why bother to attend the ceremony??
That said, I have had conversations with my DJ about setting up a microphone and whatever else is necessary to make sure the vows are heard by everyone in attendance.
