For girls that lined their aisles with TONS of rose petals...
A) Were they real flowers?
B) Did the florist charge you for them?
I LOVE how the red roses look down the aisle! Sooo pretty!

Although my wedding has not happened yet, the florist is providing me with bags of real rose petals for FREE! He threw a lot of things in for free, he is great!

My florist is providing the rose petals for us for free, too... but I don't know how many is needed to cover the aisles. If I need a TON of petals, would I then be charged? Hmmmmm....
I need them for the aisles, for throwing (instead of rice), for the placecard table and for the cake table. LOTS O' PETALS!

What I would suggest is that you take the width and length of the aisle and tell the florist that you want to packed with petals. See what he is going to charge you for them then what maybe another option is to buy the roses yourself at a wholesale market the night before and pluck them off and put them in a bag and give them to someone to lay them on the aisle.

Just be careful...the petals are known to stain, and it might be a little slippery if caught under a shoe and squished...what about considering fake ones?

Excellent point!!!! I had a stain on my gown from rose petals being thrown at me! Someone must have stepped on my gown I would def go for fake ones--unless u are not going to be stepping anywhere near them!

Okay... good points! So maybe fake ones for the aisle. I think for throwing outside, we would have to have the real ones. That way they just blow away, and don't have to be cleaned up. (who would clean up the fake petals after the ceremony is over?)

If you want fake petals go to wpetals.com you can get 4,000 of them to cover the sides of teh aisle for decent price. You can use DFL as a discount code.

If you're keeping them - your bridal party can pick them up in a few mins...or even the limo driver if they're providing the aisle runner....
Otherwise, you'd have to discuss it with your church.

FYI - for The Wedding of the Year we used silk. They came out great!

I think I read in the InStyle wedding book that it costs thousands to blanket the aisle with rose petals. Of course, I also think it was Preston Bailey who said that so I guess his petals are lined with gold leaf.

OH.... MY..... GOD! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! It looked great! (I wish I had gone to that... I had just STARTED becoming addicted at that point!).
