For Girls Who Don't Wear Much Make-Up

What are you doing for your wedding day? Which type is more natural looking, airbrush or traditional? I'd like to look enhanced, but not 'made-up'.

I dont wear a lot of makeup, but I didn't want to looked washed out on my wedding day. I thought about bare minerals, but feel it isn't the right makeup for pictures. I am using a makeup artist from Bobi Brown in Bloomingdales. She is using a tinted moisturizer on me instead of foundation. I had 2 trials with her and it didn't feel heavey or anything. It actually felt nice!

Id say dont use airbrush if you want a more natural look. They can use a powder foundation and that looks more natural. Definitely look into Bare Minerals base powder.

Honestly, I would still airbrush. Check out my trial and wedding pics in my album. I hardly wear any makeup every day and I kept it simple and it looked beautiful. Airbrush is fantastic..I didn't have to touch up once the whole day!

I had a trial using airbrush and I hated it as well. However, I had a second trial in which I decided to use the traditional style and ended up booking on the spot.

i had 1 trial with airbrush and hated it...i looked orange! or super tanned

but then I had another trial with someone else, still airbrush....and loved it, looked very natural. So I think it also depends on the shade the make up artist uses...make sure it goes well with your skin.

With both trials, I said I wanted something very natural and told them I never wear make up....the 1st one, my sister saw me and laughed....the 2nd one, everyone said it looked great!...and I knew it too, I booked on the spot with the 2nd one.

I just had a trial on Sunday. The thread should be on the first or second page ...

We were going to try airbrush for me since I hardly wear foundation, but she told me that if I want it to look natural, airbrush may not be right. She feels it can look TOO perfect - and therefore, sometimes, fake looking.

She used foundation on me but brushed it on with a paintbrush-type of brush and kept blending it. It looked very natural and light. If you want her info FM me!

What are some qualities I should look for in a make-up artist? I have a really hard time determining if make up looks good on me. It's been difficult to find a balance between natural beauty and photographic beauty. Any pointers?

Look at bridal magazine pics and try some things out before you go to a trial. If you don't wear a lot of makeup and maybe aren't sure how to apply it, have a friend who does play around. You might find a look you like that way.

And look at m/u artists' webpages to see what kind of work they do. If you decide to go to a trial with a LIW vendor, check out brides who have used them and look at their vendor pages to get an idea of what kind of work they do and what style they do most often. If you want a light, natural look and you find a vendor that does a lot of dramatic looks, that might not be the person for you.

I don't wear make-up, the extent of my make-up is lip gloss.
I used air brush for my trial and was happy with the results. I also don't want to be touching up my make-up at all, so that was my only reason for air brush.
I have pics of before and after in my album.
