So I am throwing a shower for my friend who is completely not into having a shower! She does not want games or gift opening. She does not want to be the center of attention in any way. Can anyone offer any ideas as to what to do? Is there a game or something where the guests can open her gifts for her, or other games to play taht don't center around her? I am afraid that I am stuck with a 4 hour party and nothing to do!!! Any suggestions please! Thanks so much!!!

this was how i felt! Unfortunately, my bridal party didnt listen to me and made me open gifts! BUT we didnt do games at all we just let everyone socialized and it was nice!
I love the idea of having the guests get involved with opening the gifts...OR you could have a go green shower and have everything wrapped in clear wrapping paper!
You could also have the guests all fill out an index card with a piece of advice for her and her soon to be husband so they are 'doing something'

You could def tell all of the guests not to wrap their gifts and just not have the bride open them. At one shower we did the advice cards also and they were hysterical! Very fun game.

I have heard of these suggestions, I actually was invited to a shower once where they said no need to wrap gifts, but I wasn't able to go, but it was because she didn't want to spend time opening gifts so everything was put on the table so she could see what she got!!!
For my sister's shower we had a bunch of little games. I did bridal scratch offs, and a lot of people do a question and answer game, where you ask her FH questions and have her answer them, but if she doesn't want to be put on the spot that might not be good...
How about that game where you pick one person from each table to make a toilet paper bridal gown? I have heard that is fun!

I threw my sister a Luau theme bridal shower with unwrapped gifts. I had 2 hula dancers come teach us the hula for like 30 min and a DJ for dancing. Everyone said it was the best shower they had every been to. My suggestion is a theme with an activity. I mean people register for gifts so you know what they are getting, y torture them by then unwrapping the gifts?

I threw a shower for my sister back in July. In the invites we asked people to wrap the gifts in cellephane. Although the wrap was clear it looked so pretty on the table with the sun clisteing on it. I'm gonna have her do the same for me. I know some people think its rude to do that, but it takes up so much time unwrapping gifts and gives more time with the bride. Enclosed in her invites my friend made tab inserts which read: If you would be so kind to wrap your gifts with cellephane for all to see. It gives us more time with the bride to be.
