we both have 2nd jobs. I got one as a medical assistant. HE got another one cooking at the marriot 2 days a week. We dont want to put anything on CC> Plus we want to save after wedding for the baby that hopefully that comes soon after. I though am looking to go back into management.

I was thinking the same thing. I really don't want to use CC, I just finished paying them off, with the exception of the one I'm using for xmas gifts.

This may just be the route I go though

I think FH and I will be fine but if something were to happen that we find we need money for someting else and can't finish paying for the wedding, we'll either put something on the CC or I can ask my dad to lone us the rest and pay him back right after the wedding... he had offered to give us something before and I refused it - which he knew I would because he knows I'm too proud to take his money LOL.... instead he's just been getting FH a lot of side work which is his way of 'helping out' (sneaky dad but thank you!)

it'll most likely be our parents - which we totally don't want to do at all. Currently, we're short about $10k so we're putting away about 2-3000 per month away which should cover it. but the holidays are bad for my wallet

I am roughly figuring we may be like $6,000 short around there...so we may take it out of my bank account (which is for our house that I have been saving forever) or take a small loan out. Or put the Rehersal Dinner on our CC, gifts for brial party, favors and whatever else we can do on a CC...we've been working my butt off so I hope we will be okay! Our plan is whatever we put on the CC we will pay back with the wedding $$$ (gifts)

we can't use CC for any of our vendors anymore. we put a few deposits on the CC (we ahve the points CC) and we paid that off when the bill came in. but now we are workign on a cash only type thing with the vendors.

BUT - we are hopign for good tax returns. and if we are short, we spoke about taking out a home equity LOC. and pay it off right afterthe wedding, but I woudl rather not be in any type of debt after we get married. He has plenty saved up and he said we could use that if need be (i'd rather not do that either though... )

I honestly think we should be okay.

It looks like we will be okay, if the tax man is nice we will be in the clear (please God let this happen!) If not we will only be short a little and we will probably just get a quick loan at the credit union and pay it back in full out of our wedding checks. We really can't use credit cards for anything at this point because nobody takes them! If we really had to we could charge the limos, flowers, and, I think, the rest of Duet.
