Girls with Ivory dresses, any other items to take into special consideration other than flower girl dress ?

Does FH (what does DH mean someone tell me ) have to wear an IVORY shirt ?

Do I need an IVORY cardbox instead of white, IVORY guestbook ? IVORY candles ?

Sorry if im making some of you laugh lol but im totally clueless.

Thx.

You are not making me laught at all! I'm wearing Ivory also, and I believe that FH will have an ivory shirt & tie ( we actually haven't gone for tuxes yet My flower girl will also be in ivory, because I want her to match me. As for the other things you mentioned, where at all possible, I think I will try to go for Ivory, if it's not available/and or appropriate in my colors of blue & yellow.

DH means Dear Husband. Don't worry, I had to look on the chat lingo page to figure that out !

Edited to add: But I don't think you HAVE to do that if you are wearing Ivory, just what I think I'm doing!

I was actually thinking I would mix and match ivory and white but i do want my FG to match me...

I always thought DH meant dedicated husband...I guess it can be either

i have an ivory dress, and fh will wear an ivory shirt...

imo, i would do everything ivory (maybe skip out on the guestbook, cardbox, and ring pillow) as these will barely be seen let alone directly next to you but its totally up to you

Re: For Girls with Ivory Dresses

My flower girls are going to be in ivory dresses and my centerpieces will have ivory in them, along with my bouquet. My FH will be in his military uniform and that shirt is white so the guys are going to match him.

Dont forget your veil that should be ivory ESPECIALLY if you have any type of trim on it.

Re: For Girls with Ivory Dresses

I wore ivory and basically anything that would have otherwise been white I did as ivory. FG dresses, DH tux tie etc, ring bearers pillows, FG baskets, the satin ribbon around my BQ and of course veil & shoes. The only thing I left white was the card box because I borrowed my sister-in-laws. One piece of advice for wearing ivory, there are so many shades so try to get a swatch of your dress to get as close as possible. Sometimes ivory can be practically white or leaning more toward creamy with a hint of yellow so it definitely can make a difference.

I had an ivory dress and all the details were ivory. I didn't have a card box though. I don't think you have to go too crazy but I think it just looks nice if you have a somewhat consistent palette.

WE're doing ivory for everything too. What I would say is it isn't a really yellow ivory. It's like a softer white

My dress is ivory, but I could not tell until I saw the label... so we ARE doing everything ivory (like the tux shirts) but I am checking them against my swatch to make sure they arent too dark of an ivory color since mine is very light.

There are so many shades of white and ivory but trust me it is easy to find things to match.

Most importantly, your veil and shoes should match.

My dress was champagne and I had everything in champagne. My FG wore brown like the girls. DH had a white shirt with a champagne tie and his vest was not solid and it had champagne in it -- it went very nicely together without looking matchy matchy.

MrsBlueRibbon: thanks for making me feel better...lol.

Rosalind_75: sorry ! I actually didn't think of these things until now.

Thank you ALL for your responses. They have been very helpful. I guess general rule is to try and stick to Ivory, but if the item won't be on you or photographed with you anyways, it probably won't matter.

Re: For Girls with Ivory Dresses

Just to give you an idea, I wore an ivory Eve of Milady strapless ballgown w/ gold embroidery and a matching ivory cathedral train. DH wore Stephen Geoffrey Chocolate Parisian tux & matching pants w/ white tuxedo shirt . My FG wore a part white dress with flower petals sewn around the ribbon. Our guest book had a vintage lace design. Go with what you love, don't worry about all the accessories & details to match your ivory dress. Not everything has to match, there'll be too much ivory in your wedding colors.

i was freaking cause of this too- my dress is ivory-
FH and his guys are weargin suits so FH was like you're not going to see that much of my shirt- so he's wearing a white shirt -and i dont think anyone will notice but me!!!
FG is wearing a white dress- i think its fine to mix and match white and ivory....

i didn't even THINK of the ivory shirt for them.

FG's are in ivory, though.

my shoes are going to be dyed to match my ivory dress.

I had all the accessories in my colors not in ivory or white.

THe guys wore white shirts. I personally thing ivory shirts look dirty. It did not look strange or make my dress look bad at all.

DH wore and ivory vest with a white shirt. Pics are in my album if you want to take a look.

Re: For Girls with Ivory Dresses

My dress was light gold, as were my veil and shoes.
Personally I don't like ivory shirts on men, they can look too yellowish. I prefer a nice crisp white shirt, which is what DH wore with his black tux, and light gold vest and tie.
My MOH wore chocolate brown, so the best man wore a chocolate brown vest and tie with his black tux, white shirt.
The two dads wore black tuxes, white shirts, black vest and ties.
The FG wore an ivory dress with a chocolate brown sash. She wore a wreath of flowers in her hair, tied with ivory ribbons. The basket she carried was ivory.
My bo-k was tied with a light gold ribbon, my mom's picture was in a gold frame.
I had an ivory money bag that matched the FG basket.
That's as matchy-matchy as I got.
