for girls with naturally curly hair who wear it curly

Original post by MsPotterhead

Who does your hair? Whose doing it for the wedding?
I've tried tons of places before I found Devachan -- a wonderful salon for curly haired girls, but very expensive! My stylist there is the only one who has done my hair for 5 years, and does not do weddings, and would not travel to LI. He did recommend someone else at the salon, but it is really expensive for her to travel. So, I'm looking for someone who knows how to work with naturally curly hair, and who will not want to straighten it, or make me look like I did at my prom in the early 90's! Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

you have gorgeous hair! Where do you get it done regularly? Do you like the way it looks after getting it done? Maybe that salon does weddings? I'm looking for all info possible!
Thanks!

Actually, I've never had my hair done for any event. I always do it myself, but I think I'm going to have to give in this time!! I get my hair cut in East Northport at a salon called Hair Sensations. The woman who cuts my hair is Laura. She does a great job, I've been going to her for about 4 years. I haven't asked her yet about the wedding, but when I do, I'll let you know the details. And thanks for the compliment!!

I have to say, I love love love SAMY curly hair mousse. It works really well. It's the only thing I've found that has worked forever!! Everything else seems to lose it's touch after a while. I just put mousse in after the shower (after brushing it) and then I blow dry it with a diffuser. It works great!! Oh yea, and I have these 2 stupid pieces in the front that don't curl, so I curl them everyday, what a pain!!

Like someone with this curly hair should have to use a curling iron!!
