We decided to go to Montreal and Quebec City for our honeymoon and are checking on hotels, tours etc. To go from Montreal to Quebec City we will take their train, the VIA Rail. They have commuter seats/cars and they have first class cars.
Since it's a 3 hr trip we were wondering if we should just go commuter or splurge for premium. Has anyone ridden these? Are the premium cars worth the extra money?

I did that a few years ago. I left my friends in Montreal to go sightseeing in Quebec on my own. They wanted to go shopping. I had the better time. VIA rail is quite pleasant, much better than Amtrack.
I don't recall if I used premium or commuter class. I'd go for premium class. When I travel in Europe, I always book first class for the trains. Much more comfortable ride. I do remember buying the rail ticket here in NY, instead of waiting until I got there.
Enjoy the trip, it is quite beautiful.

I have never taken the rail, I didnt know there was one from Montreal to Quebec, but I absolutely love Montreal, I used to go there alot, I think I may do that for my BP
