For ladies who work in a bank...

For all of you ladies that work in a bank. I have a dilemma for you, maybe you can help me. So I got a letter in the mail today saying that my account was charged $64 for 2 checks that I made and I apparently had insufficiant funds. I went back and looked at my checkbook and I subtracted wrong . I balanced it now, but I was wondering that if I called my bank if they would waive my fee, bc I have never done this before. I've had this account for years and have never had insufficient funds. Is it possible for my bank to waive the $64 fee, if this is my forst offense? TIA!

I would def call and ask. It doesn't hurt.. i usually give fees back if they never were od before.. just ask to talk to a manager.. Good luck!

First off, all banks policies are different. I can tell you that your chances are better if you go to your 'home' branch (where you opened the acct) ask to speak to assistant or branch manager. Explain the situation and explain you are planning a wedding and that getting this money back to you would help! You don't have anything to lose! HTH!Good Luck!

I used to work at a bank and though I doubt that they will waive it (they hate doing that) they might. But most likely they will tell you to open an overdraft protection so that this wont happen again

I had this happen once by error. I called them up and explained I made a mistake. Usually, they will correct it for courtesy reasons.
