For my fellow recent law school grads!

Original post by afrodyt2000

Bar studying is kicking my @ss. It is so time consuming which I knew, of course, in abstract. It sort of reminds me of first year. You know how everyone tells you about it but you don't get it till you go through it. It's definitely doable but time consuming trying to fit everything in.

I did this all last yr. I took barbri and found it to be pretty good. They actually gave a pretty detailed list of what you should be doing each day. Every day after class (i did 9 to 12) i outlined and condensed my notes which i found really helpful. For the first month or so i didn't do anything once a weekend (gave self a day off). Once i hit july though it was absolute hell. But you will get through it. Don't freak out too much about where the course tells you you should be (like certain #s getting right). I was never close to wheere they said but i did really good on the multi in the end. Their #s made me really nervous going into the exam. Good luck to all and any questions just ask!

Thanks so much for this advice!
I have heard that outlining is important and REALLY helps!

I might be FMing you!

I start the course tomorrow girls...
What can I expect?
Do they at least give part of the first day to explain how to study or what the course will entail?

I'm not sure if your course will be different. We just got the schedule for the first week and it gives the readings and quizzes we should do for each day. He didn't explain about how to study other than going over your notes from the day before, to keep them fresh in your mind but not trying to memorize yet.

That's what I want to do - make a schedule.... and I think its important to schedule healthy things like eating and the gym in, because a lot of times we don't leave breaks for that....

I don't know if we know what we are getting ourselves into!

We should definitely keep in touch via FM and this thread with schedule ideas.

I start today at bar bri at my school, so I will let everyone know.

My thoughts for NOW are: class, eat lunch, outline, dinner, gym or visa versa and then some model questions or whatever assignment they give us...
