For my interview tomorrow - I don't own a suit

Original post by johnsae

If you can believe I've been living and working in the city for 5 years and I still don't own a suit....I first worked at a PR company and now I work at an Advertising agency, and the dress code at both is very casual.

Well, I have an interview tomorrow and I'm going to wear my 'interview staple' - black and white, wool, conservative, French Connection pants with a black cashmere turtleneck sweater with black heels and stockings.

I don't have the $$ to go out and buy a suit (I don't even have a black blazer) for this one interview...but do you ladies think this is ok???

I am interviewing at a handbag / leather goods company.

I have gone with bare legs in the summer and got the job both times

I don't want a job that would make me wear hose in 90 degree weather...lol

but I agree with the rest- people tend to be more understanding today- especially if they know you are coming from a job- you don't want everyone at your current job to know you are interviewing

I wear pant suits, not skirt or dress suits. That would be a complete red flag if I showed up to work showing my legs. I usually hide my suit jacket and resume folder under my jacket and then put on the jacket outside. The things I must do.
