For people not going the traditional route with place cards

I am thinking of doing something different for place cards for the rehersal dinner....I want to let people know where to sit by putting it up on a peice of paper/carboard on an easel, so my question is, where can I find an easal that I can put on top of a piano...basically a small one, that goes on a table, instead of the floor..I really hope this makes sense.

I bet I know what would work . . . a plate stand. The sell them at Pier One. You buy them for large platters that have designs on them that you want to display in your kitchen or dining room or even hang on the wall.

I have 2 of them and one of them holds a platter that is about the size of a pizza. They are iron and have pretty feet on them that hold the plate in place (they curl up). You could do your seating list, put it in a frame and use the plate stand to hold it up!

I think I like that idea and may steal it from myself!

At Ikea in the picture dept they carry tiny wooden easels. That might work.

Glad to help!

They are very cheap as well - $5 or so.
