$$$ for PreCana????!!!! Kinda Long Vent!

Ok so here's my little problem:
I go to college at night until may 16th and I had talked to the priest that is marrying us ahead of time and he said that we could do PreCana through the church during the summer. Ok, awesome...until I got a phone call from a kinda mean church lady telling me the only available PreCana was starting THIS Monday and if we didn't take it then, we would have to go call us the Dioces of Rockville Centre and go thru them. GRRRRR ok, fine! So yesterday I call them and they tell me there are summer sessions still open. GREAT!! But it's gonna cost $250!!!!! WHAT!!!!! I thought PreCana was included in the $500 I had to pay the church already!! that means for my 30 min ceremony I am paying the church $750!!!!!! GRRRRRRRR Why is the CHURCH giving me the more problems than anyone or anything else!!!?

Did you call your original church and explain the situation and broken promises, maybe they'll credit you?

we went through the diocese as well.

it is expensive. at least they're fitting you in, we almost though we wouldn't be able to get the church wedding...

Just keep thinking, 'it's about me & FH, it's about me and FH...'

i did and they said that they never said it was included and to look at my contract and I did and they were right...but it's still crappy!! It would cost more to get married at the hall so we have no choice!

Our precana was not included in the $600 church fee (that covers church, clergy, organist, soloist... but not precana).

We did it through the Brooklyn Diocese at a church in Queens (not my diocese or church - you can basically do it anywhere and just give your priest the certificate). It was $175 and we had to go for 2 hours on a Friday night and then 9-5pm the next day (Saturday). We got out an hour early on the Friday and 2 1/2 hours early on the Saturday.
