For September and October brides

Just a thought for those who are getting married in September and October. If you are having your ceremony or cocktail hour (or both)outdoors, make sure you ask your catering hall if they spray for bees. Yellowjackets are a major problem at that time of year and no one wants to have guests or wedding participants swatting them away. I went to an outdoor wedding in early October a few years ago and was stung on the inside of my lip by a bee while drinking soda. The bee had apparently landed on the inside of the glass and I took a drink without looking. My lip swelled up like a balloon. Several other guests were also bothered by the bees, but I was the only stingee! We are having both our wedding and cocktail hour outdoors and when we went today for our menu planning etc.,that was one of the first things I asked about. Fortunately they do spray, so we should be okay, but I wanted to share.

What do you spray with?

I will have my wedding outdoors in a park. what do you think I need to spray with to control the bees? I'll ask my reception place as well, since it will be outdoors for cocktail hour

Not sure what they use. Perhaps whoever is in charge of the park where you are getting married would know.
