For the brides who have booked the florist - PLEASE HELP

Now that I have booked the reception, photographer and band I can definitively say that my estimating techniques suck! So please help me plan for sticker shock: For those of you who have already acomplished this monumental task please help: 1- Who is your florist? 2- What is your estimate? What is included? (post pics if you have them) Thanks! PS: My wedding is October 5, 2002 if that is of any help.

For the brides who have booked the florist - PLEASE HELP

I just booked my florist this weekend and I love her! She was so helpful. She put together a boquet for me and for the bridesmaids while we were talking! The florist is flower garden in Port Jeff. We decided to go light on the flowers. We spent too much on our photographer so we are spending 1,500 on flowers. I hope that helps!

Flowers by Brian

We`re using Flowers by Brian. Since our wedding party is on the smaller side, we went more elaborate with the centerpieces. We`re doing tall arrangements of 4 1/2 dozen roses (in fall colors of reds, yellows and such). They are around $135 each. I think my bouquet is around $180, and the two bouquets for the girls totaled about $150. The boutonnieres were no charge. I know there were a few other things .. like alter arrangements, pew bows and the place card table arrangement, but I`m not sure how much that was. But this should give you a good start. I`m not really sure how these prices compare to other places .. we just felt so good about Flowers by Brian when we met with them, we didn`t look anywhere else.

For the brides who have booked the florist - PLEASE HELP

I booked a small local florist in the town I am getting married in - Silver Stems in Rockville Centre. My reception hall supplies the floral table centerpieces, so we really save big time in that aspect. Plus, the Cathedral advises you not to get flowers for the Church because they have fresh floral arrangements delivered every Friday night. All I had to get were the following: 1. Bridal Bouquet, consisting of all Sahara roses in pink, peach and cream colors with small amounts of stephanotis. $100 2. A maid of honor and a matron of honor bouquet, both consisting of small hand-tied round bouquets of roses in lavendar color, pink lisanthius (sp?), blue hygrangeas, and dark purple stock. $75 each 3. 4 BM bouquets, the same as MOH's but slightly smaller. $50 each 4. Boutonierres for all men, excluding groom, are going to be dendrobium orchids. I'll need 9 @ $10 each (which I thought was very expensive!). 5. My FH, and the groom, will have a 3-stem stephanotis bout, $10. 6. And I will need corsages for the 2 mother's, 1 grandmother, and 1 SIL, and we can have them be anything we want. $20 each. They threw in a free tossing bouquet and waived the tax for cash payment. All totaled: $630....... Hope this helps. BTW, I got three estimates from florsits in the area, and for the same stuff, their estimates were about the same, give or take a few dollars. And my wedding is the day before Mother's Day, the most expensive time of year, so I think I aamde out well (I booked 1 year in advance!).

For the brides who have booked the florist - PLEASE HELP

I just got my florist estimate too. My bouquet is $125. I have no bridesmaids, although the pricesheet ran from $50 to $100 ea. The centerpieces are fairly simple and will be about $50 ea. Flowers for the cake will run about $50 also. Decorations for the ceremony will be about $150. I am also getting an additional bouquet of loose flowers to decorate the various food tables at the reception, about $40.00. I hope that gives you an idea about some costs. I am getting married in Montauk next month.

I used Murphy & Co. in Bayside. You can see my bouquet under my profile. Kevin starts with the bouquet price - I think it was $150 for mine and $50 each for the MOH and Bridesmaids. He'll fit everything else into your budget - whatever it is. I liked some of his creative uses of ivy, berries, and less expensive but unusual fillers, like Queen Ann's Lace, to create unusual arrangements. We spent about $2000 and it included: My Bouquet plus 3 for attendants 9 bouttonaires 5 coursages 2 alter arrangements Pew Bows Centerpieces for 18 tables Dais arrangements Place Card table arrangement Cake Flowers We were happy with everything except that they cut it really close with the flower delivery, arriving about a half hour late at the hotel - just request a delivery with extra time before you need them.

Towers Flowers...

in North Babylon...I think the total is about $1800... my bouquet(roses, lilies and iris) 1 MOH 5 BM 11 bouttonaires 3 corsages 15 centerpieces - summer flowers (roses, sunflowers, hydrangas, etc) They also offer invitations for 40% off if you do your flowers with them... I also have an arch 'reserved' in case there is bad weather and the ceremony is inside (otherwise it will be in at a gazebo)

Sugar Magnolias - but we have the same wedding date!

I think the owner only schedules one party a day. I`ll probably end up paying about $2,300., but that includes tons of hall decorations, as well as the bouquets, etc.

For the brides who have booked the florist - PLEASE HELP

We used Florissima in Huntington Station. They were great! For 24 simple centerpieces, 9 bouquets and a basket, 2 small alter arrangements (gardenlike), about 14 bouteniers and 7 coursages, two long stem roses, a mary bouquet and a basket of petals for tossing, it only came to about $2000. They do excellent work!
