For the brides who used bubbles...

For the brides who used bubbles...

I met with the priest yesterday who is marrying us. He told me a handful of brides have told him bubbles stain satin...is this really true, has this happened to anyone?

I plan on using bubbles but if it really does stain I may have to consider using something else but that may be very difficult being my church does not allow anything else besides bubbles.

I think it would stain satin...

Why don't you try Ribbon Wands... They can't be against those too???

I was in a wedding & it did make marks on the flowergirls' dress, but she had spilled a bunch of it on herself.

Wow, really?...oh boy.

Thanks, I will definitely look into the ribbon wands, they just don't want anything thrown that can be a hazard or cause a mess.

OMG...I LOVE butterflies and never thought about a butterfly release...do you think I can still do this in the month of November? I should do some research and find out...I was also thinking of just releasing doves but would it be kind of boring to my guests if they aren't throwing anything?

Ribbon wands are sticks with ribbons on the ends of them and are used for the guests to sway them back and forth at the bride and groom.

Can you throw rose petals at your church?

I heard that bubbles do stain silk satin so be careful if you decide to use them!

I had bubbles and no stains, the 4 flower girls did ribbon wands- I wanted them to do something different since they were holding their baskets- it looked awesome in the pics!- and I heard that a lot of the butterflies come dead and it can traumatize a child. there are some old threads about the butterflies- if you cant do the petals then why not do the doves? have the limo play music and do the dove release- they do 1 then 2 then a bunch so that you your guest and the photographer doesnt miss them! if we didnt do bubbles I would have done the doves!

Ours didn't. I wish I could remember what brand they were, because they were made especially for weddings & were made to not leave ring marks on satin or silk. If you check the bottles or the packaging while you are shopping then it should tell you if it is 'dress safe'

when my BF got marriend a few years ago she used butterfly's and half of them were dead by the time we opened them.

i'm doing bubbles and if it stains so be it. they're not gonna wear them again anyway
