For the first time....

For the first time ever...a man offered me his seat on the subway. I was shocked....he was such a gentleman.

I of course thanked him and refused....but his offer really made my day!

Wow! That's great. I has happened to me a few times, but not many. Most of them sit down and spread their legs so now can sit on either side of them

That's really nice.

I had some guy almost knock me down so he can walk past me on the train instead letting me sit down in my seat.

Christine that has happened to me too. In the morning the people are ruthless in Bayside. I had a guy almost push me onto the tracks in order to get on the train before me and get a seat.

THat is why this was such a pleasant surprise.

I take the train from Bayside too!

I get nuts when those 4/5 seater groups push onto the train. They already know they have a seat - relax!
One time someone was pushing so hard I just stopped and said 'this is so important to you - go ahead!' They apologized getting off the train

My husband said the other day the train was packed coming home and he saw a pregnant lady who looked like she was towards the end of her pregnancy standing up. He said he waited a short time just to see if anyone would give up their seat and nobody did! He said he stood up and gave her his seat. He couldn't believe all the men that were sitting down 2 feet away from her and didn't do a thing.

Once in a while I get a nice man to offer me his seat, but its usually a 90 year old man who cant walk or move, but he is being a gentleman and offered me his seat. I decline and thank him anyway.

I think more men need to take how to be a gentlemen classes

Every now and then a man will offer his seat to me on the subway and I usually refuse, but thank him. What I absolutely can't stand is when a pregnant woman or an elderly person gets on the subway and no one makes any attempt to offer his or her seat!

Men on trains are such jerks!! I went to school in the village so I took the N train for 4 years. Well in those 4 years I have seen very few men offer seats, even to pregnant women. I always offer my seat when I see a pregnant woman, and there are always a dozen or so men around just sitting there!! They need to have some courtesy!

Once, a woman offered a seat to a pregnant woman, and another guy jumped into the seat before the pregnant woman has a chance to sit down. That other woman went OFF on him! He totally deserved it because he was standing right next to the pregnant woman.

well today, this didnt happen on the train, but I was at an outside ATM with my friend at lunch and all of a sudden I feel someone bang into me and I started to lose my balance....I got the windknocked out of me -- Some stupid boys were horsing around and knocked into me. I thought I was getting robbed, and they just ran away with a quick 'sorry!!'
