For the first time in 14 years...

...I am DEBT FREE!!!!

It was a VERY long time coming but an incredible feeling to pay off my last credit card. After a crap year, I needed something good!

Thanks. My credit needs a bit of repair but that will happen in time. I learned some very hard lessons about spending and saving. Now I have more reason to be responsiblewith money. With someone else depending on me and children in the future, I am forced to step up to the plate and contribute to the best of my ability. This is the first step towards financial freedom.

congrats leslie what a huge accomplishment!!!! i hope to be doing the same thing shortly after my wedding. it must be like the weight of the world is off your shoulders!

Yeah it does but dont get me wrong, we are far from out of the woods! DH still has his debt and even though whats his is mine and whats mine is his, I feel it is an accomplishment!

I feel like the same!!

I won't be debt free until September with the new cards I just acquired (would have been a lot sooner if it wasn't for 9 weddings this year!!) but DH's debt far exceeds mine, and the fact that I am getting credit again is a good thing!!!

Leslie, after I paid off all of my debts, it took me about a year to a year and a half before I was getting approved again. Not sure why this is, but I am not complaining!!!
