For the Ladies who had Bag Pipers

FH is FDNY and im Irish so we thought it was a nice 'add' to the party, but we are having a hard time deciding when to have them play? CH, reception >?? What have you seen done? Thanks

We are having them before the ceremony starts, as people are walking in and getting to their seats.

i had this as well. he also piped us into the hall, but he was a family friend and would have been there anyway. otherwise, i don't think i would have paid extra for that. the church would be enough.

ETA: FDNY has their own pipe band...perhaps you could inquire about getting a few of them together?

We plan on using the piper outside the church when people are entering/exiting. My dad brought up the idea of having the piper 'pipe' us out of the church, meaning walking ahead of us while playing as we walk down the aisle after the ceremony.

We had them play when the ceremony ended and then they did a set during the reception as dinner was being cleared which was great because people crowded around them on the dance floor and then the DJ went right into music so the dance floor was already packed.

A friend of ours volunteered to play at the end of the ceremony as we walked back down the aisle and everyone walked to the ch from the gazebo.
