What is the norm for a mile? How long does it take you runners to do a mile in?

When I am in shape, I run an 8 minute mile, right now I am working down to it and am at 10 minutes- there are people that I work with that do it in as little as 6.

depends if ur jsut running a mile, or your running mult. miles. I like to run 5-6 miles in an hour. they're like 12 min miles, but if I'm only running 1 I keep it to 7-8

i'm not a super fast runner. I average like an 11 minute mile - unless it's only 2-3 miles I'm running; then like a 10 minute mile

I could prob run an 8-9 minute mile if I wanted but I run for distance and need to pace myself. So that being said I run about a 10 min mile and am training for a half marathon and am up to 8 miles!

For the ladies who run 10 minute miles or under, do you start off by walking slow or do you warm up before you get running???
