For the ladies who's mother has passed away...

Original post by SN2BMRSBURTE

How are you planning to not break down at ceremony? I have my sisters, but I am so scared that with all the emotions of the wedding itself, I am just gonna loose it when they say the prayer for my mother...and once I start I can't stop..I know she will still be there in spirit...but still...is anyone else in this situation, and how are you planning on handling it?

I lost my mom 2-1/2 years ago and I really wish she was with me thru this whole planning process. I miss her so much.
I'll probably be crying, tearing up right now as I type this, but will try to hold onto the good memories for that day and remember that she will be with me in my heart.
I am attaching a picture of her to my bo-k, so I can see her smiling face when I feel like i am going to cry, and I'll have her wedding ring pinned to the inside of my gown.

That is a beautiful idea, to have her wedding ring pinned inside your gown.

I lost my mother about 2 years ago, and I don't know how I'm going to get through the ceremony without crying. I almost told the priest not to do a prayer for her just so I wouldn' have to think about it. But I decided that she should definitely be menitoned so she can be part of the day.
I was thinking about making a memorial candle to keep lighted throughout the reception.

I wanted to add this in here, incase any of you wanted to use it...we got this and are using it during the reception. I liked it because I think of it for my mother, but FH can think of for his grandparents, because there is not a specific name on it..and we are going to keep fresh flowers in it all the time after the ceremony..

I lost my mom almost two years ago and she was my mom...dad and best friend. I can't imagine myself not seeing her there and I am also having a prayer for her and I know it will be really really hard for me. Just saying her name ... makes me cry. Hang in there! I know exactly how you feel.

You can't help how you feel and if you are going to cry then so be it.

Youll be in the house of God if he brings you to it he will get you through it!
