For the peeps that FH saw you before ceremony...

I'm having ceremony/reception at the same place and I'm really upset he has to see me before the ceremony for pics. I'm gonna come walkin out of a limo bus in my dress, thats how hes gonna see me.
Anyone has/had same prob???

most photographers set up a special 'see him for the first time' moment ... like coming down a staircase... or outside by a gazebo etc....

you can stage something more romantic

I was sad about it too at first, but in a jewish wedding you sign the ketubah first anyway, so walking down the aisle isnt the first time you see eachother. also, i didnt want FH, his family and our bridal party to have to miss our cocktail hour -- we want to be able to enjoy the whole day!

Thank you!!! I guess I will talk to photographer about that. I haven't booked that yet...I'm so behind!!!

we are getting ready together in our house, we will have breakfast together, and just have a really fun morning, our bridal party will be at our house as well getting dressed and ready, hair makeup etc.

I am breaking tradition and it feels AMAZING!

The limo is picking us up at our house at 2:45 and our BP has their own limo,andme and FH have a stretch limo for ourselves...i cant wait to spend the entire day with him

I love that idea but when I brought it up to my mom she freaked cause shes painting the entire house for the 'pictures'. She wants me to get ready there and sleep there ( i live w/ fh). Meanwhile my sis took my bed! But not to worry there is a fresh coat of paint on the walls!

Seeing my DH before the ceremony was one of the BEST possible decisions I could have made. Please do not be sad about it, it will relax both of you and you will be able to appreciate the ceremony even more because you won't be a big ball of nerves. And you may even get some great photos out of it too!

I loved being able to hug and kiss my soon-to-be-DH, and being able to actually see his reaction, and being able to talk to him in that moment.

I don't think any brides who did this actually regret it.

yeah- he doesnt have to see you hopping out of a bus for the first time.

have him facing the othr way and you walk up behimd him and then he turns around to see you

Dominique (failurbydesign) gave some great advise which I think I'll take...have just you, him and the photographer. That way he can have the reaction he wants to have with no ones there (parents, BP). Its totaly a matter of preferance though. Some people have the BP llined up in the shot.

Our photographer staged the meeting between DH and I so we can take pictures before the ceremony.

I came up in the elevator and DH was waiting on me - as the doors opened he saw me standing there... he yelled out 'Holy S**t! You look beautiful!!' I just stood there after I stepped out of the elevator grinning at how great he looked and laughing at his reaction to me.

It was so nice- the even more funny part is that my aunt got stuck in the elevator a bit since the doors closed before she can step out of the elevator

It was truly a wonderful moment letting him see me for the first time all dressed up and such. I don't regret it as also when he saw me walking down the aisle he started to tear up too even though he saw me right before.

i was dead set on not seeing each other before the ceremony. But after talking to my photographer (who is great and not pushy at all) i made the decision to see each other before. We are definitley doing it with just the photographer and videographer, no family or friends watching. I can't wait, i think it will be such a beautiful moment and will definitely calm both of us down!
that way we can relax by ourselves in the bridal suite right after the ceremony and still be at most of the cocktail hour!

i will see FH before our ceremony and we are going to do our pictures before as well....im not sure where we are going to do the 'reveal' as debismom called it - either at the hotel or the RH but i know it will just be FH, myself, the photographer and videographer - we dont want anybody else around when we see eachother ive seen photo/video of the moment and trust me it can be VERY romantic......i know for sure i will be a lot less nervous seeing FH before the ceremony! and then our parents, bridal party and even us can enjoy our CH....im excited for the day and so glad we chose to do it this way!

It was really priceless- I told DH I am NOT cutting that out of the video!!!

For me, I just realized what I really wanted. Especially after a good friend of mine saw her husband before the church and they were so tense all they did was fight!! We are actually taking photos before our ceremony. We are on a time crunch and thats what we are going to do, it makes us happy.

We just aren't superstitious and we don't have time between ceremony and RH because we are getting married in RH.

Yeah, it was pretty funny (to us) Actully the fight started because, as she would say, 'he ruined the reveal moment'. When he came to the house he started saying hello to everyone and didn't realize she was waiting in the backyard for him!!
