For the people that Sell stuff on EBAY, What is the hottest item that you sell? The item that people tend to bid alot on??
Believe it or not, the hottest items that I sell are Diet books. I buy them cheap and sell them for alot more....Atkins, and Weight Watchers mostly.

Re: For the People that EBAY
I took full advantage of the free listing day last Friday and listed a ton of scrapbooking & stamping supplies I will never use.
I sold 70% of what I listed for close to 50% over what I listed the items for

I put alot of my college textbooks on half.com. I just put them on there and sold one so far. The site is good so far. The only difference between half.com and Ebay is that on half.com they are the ones who pay you. On Ebay, you get paid directly for the person who one the auction.

amazon.com works the same way. I used to list things there but I switched to half.com to keep everything all in one place.

How much does half.com and Amazon.com charge you? Is it cheaper than Ebay?

I was just going to suggest the same thing. I sold a lot of my law school books on Amazon. It's awesome!

They don't charge you anything unless the item sells.

I'm really dumb when it comes to EBAY - I understand the concept but a little confused about it. First, I tried to sign up and you have to put a credit card # and your bank checking account number in??? Why do they need your checking account #?
Also, lets say you want to sell a book but noone bids a price that you want to sell it for? Do you have to sell it automatically to the highest bidder?

The fees are charged to your credit card on a monthly or semi-monthly basis, I don't remember. The checking account, I believe, is to verify your identity.
With the auctions - you are bound by contract to sell to the highest bidder. To ensure it sells for atleat $X.00, you should list it at that price or enter a reserve price (an additional fee) in which case you are not obligated to sell the item unless the bids reach a certain price.
I was overwhelmed at first, but I am slowly getting the hang of it and have sold a bunch of stuff in the house that was just collecting dust.
