For those brides who wear glasses, are you wearing them on your wedding day?
The reason why I ask, is I wear glasses and I tried contacts like 10 years ago (when I was in high school), but hated them. I couldn't put them in or take them out. I had to go to the hospital one time bec I couldn't get the stupid contact out of my eye. I hate touching my eyes. But bec of the wedding, I am thinking about trying contacts again.Any other past brides or brides to be have this experience?

Re: For those brides who wear glasses, are you wearing them on your wedding day?
I finally got contacts about 5 months ago- always with my weddign day in mind. I think I was a pro the 1st time I tried to put them in-the assistant was actually pretty shocked. But the gettgin the hang of it differs quite a bit. I remember years ago when FH got his- even though he had them back in his teenage years- anyway I remember him struggling and struggling for about a month or 2 before he masted them.I think they must be easier than back in the day contacts- so I would try them again b/c (JMO) I would never even think of wearing my glasses down the aisle - even if I had to walk down blind or all blurry

Re: For those brides who wear glasses, are you wearing them on your wedding day?
Hi PeaBody,I'm an optometrist and I think contacts would be a good choice on your wedding day. Its easy to keep in all day and you dont have the hassle of having something on your face. As for having trouble putting them in and taking them out, it does take practice. Make sure you find a good optometrist that has a good staff and assistants that are patient. Start early so you ahve time to adjust to the lenses and if you do have trouble with them then you will have plenty of time to resolve the problem.
Good luck,
I hope the contacts work out for you.

Re: For those brides who wear glasses, are you wearing them on your wedding day?
my photographer suggested that i wear contacts b/c it would be better for the pictures!i hate my contacts and usually have problems with them, but my dr. prescribed patenol, an allergy drop that i put in both eyes b4 i put in the contacts. what a difference!
you should defintely try again. they make such lightweight products now and so many more throwaway types, i am sure you can find something. good luck!

Re: For those brides who wear glasses, are you wearing them on your wedding day?
I'll be using contacts as well...I hate them b/c 5 minutes after putting them on my eyes start to dry out and then my vision gets a little blurry, or some debris gets in and my eyes get red and irritated...This is the story of my 'contact lens life'
, but I will stick it out and wear them that day. I know I will be to happy and busy to be thinking about the potential discomfort that day. Has anyone thought of ever having LASIK? I am tempted to before the wedding, but I am a little bit of a chicken!

A friend of mine got contacts a few months before her wedding and she thought it was the best thing she could have done for herself. She felt so comfortable and at ease and she was able to see everybody

Re: For those brides who wear glasses, are you wearing them on your wedding day?
I wear glasses all the time. But a few months before the wedding I plan on wearing contacts. I am going to start in November or December. I want to have them on when the shower comes around, which is a surprise, the wedding day and for the HM.

I wear contacts but lately I have been wearing my glasses a lot (too lazy to put my contacts in). For the wedding I am wearing my contacts.I have to get back into the habbit of wearing my contacts. I have been wearing my glasses for so long that when I do wear my contacts they are uncomfortable.
But contacts all the way

Re: For those brides who wear glasses, are you wearing them on your wedding day?
I wear glasses but I wore my contacts for the wedding. It just looks much better for the pictures plus you don't want any glare in your photos. Contacts are much different than they were 10 years ago, they are definitely more comfortable. I have problems with contacts in the past too and the doctor recommended trying a few brands before I found the right one. You will probably need to try different brands to see which is right for you...have them give you samples once you go for a checkup.

I am opting to wear contact lenses. I think for picture taking purposes, contact will look so much better. But if you feel you would rather wear glasses, by all means. Whatever makes you comfortable is what you should do

Re: For those brides who wear glasses, are you wearing them on your wedding day?
I'm the minority here and WILL be wearing my glasses. I've tried contacts and I cannot wear them so I'm stick wearing my glasses. I am not happy about it but there is nothing I can do. I got a new pair with the anti-glare so hopefully that will help. I'll be taking them off though for the pictures but during the ceremony and party I'll have them on.
