Where do you download your music from? I am looking for a free site. Everyone I keep coming across says you have to pay before burning. Any ideas? I know there are sites that are totally free but I can't seem to find them. TIA!

Thank you! I heard that too about getting sued but I will also take my chances. If they want to sue me for downloading 10 songs for a wedding cd they are nuts!

I'm pretty sure Kazaa is also free, but make sure to preview the songs before you download. Sometimes, you'll get like 20 seconds of the song and the rest is static. Tricky music industry! I thought you could only get sued if you were sharing files for other people to download?

It might be easier to find people who have the CD's that have the songs on them and upload them onto your PC then put them together and down load. Kazah is free but the quality sucks sometimes.

Re: For those doing Cd favors.....
I use Kaza BUT beware some of the songs have viruses so I scan my PC constantly.
Another thing, if it was for a wedding CD I'd pay for the songs from a reputable site. The reason I say this is very often the songs from these free sites are not at the same volume so when you play a CD one song is way too loud & the next is way to soft. Also, they are not always CD quality. If these little quality issues don't bother you then go for it! I'm just quirky that way!

Pay for it on itunes or someplace else - who wants to give out stolen favors??
Or rip from your own cd collection.

Re: For those doing Cd favors.....
I use Kaaza- beware of the POP UP's...they are insane, I have windows XP so we downloaded it to FH's name so under my name I dont get all the pop up's...and you do have to listen to the entire song to make sure you dont get the static like mentioned ....and I dont think its stealing either!!! I am using them because I only found 5 out of the 14 songs on ITUNES....

I agree. I burned my CDs from other CDs, and it sounds perfect!
FYI - you don't get sued for downloading 10 songs. They are targeting people with collections in the thousands. It's like speeding... cops don't stop/ticket you if you're going 5-10mph over the limit... only when you're speeding excessively.
