For those doing donations in lieu of favors....

How are you wording your donations?
My FH and I went to the same college, so we were going to make a donation to our school.

Any ideas on how to word these?

i feel like it is something like this:

in lieu of traditional favors a donation has been given to _____________ in your name.

??? i havent done mine yet but i plan on doing donations. i also want to give something edible-but i dont know what?
