I am thinking about doing them and my banquet manager told me to make them at least 5x7 or 8x10.

Re: For those doing table names.
The only thing my banquet manager said to me was make them big enough so the guests are not wondering around the place looking for the table name. I have been to some affairs that had numbers and I still had to wander around. The numbers are sometimes in no order what so ever!

Re: For those doing table names.
We are naming them after vegas hotels, and someone else was naming them after places they had traveled too. You can also do flower names, or things like, hope love cherish etc. SOmeone is also doing something about places in NY, there was a thread in the beginning of the week on this?

Re: For those doing table names.
Well, John is the BIGGEST Minnesota Vikings fan...and he suggested naming the tables after players....I dont think so.....tables with names like Hovan, Culpepper, Moss, Kleinsauser, Birk...NOOOO way. Maybe the names of the places we traveled to and the names of the Islands we will be going to on our honeymoon. That may work

Re: For those doing table names.
I got tri-fold paper..so about 3.5 x 8.5. I will print on both sides and laminate them. I made table name holders that match the place card holders.

Stay and John;
My FH and I are huge basketball fans so we are naming our tables after famous players:
Michael Jordan, Jason Kidd, Patrick Ewing, etc etc.
I think your guest might get a kick out of it.

Re: For those doing table names.
marcella ... there was a thread about this some time ago. I love this idea.
Mine table names were Christmas movies ... so much fun!
I bought 5x7 cardstock at PickQuick the paper Superstore in Farmingdale I printed them on the computer I went to Pearl Paint & bought stands ... the kind that has adhesive and you stick to the back so that they stand up like the back of a frame (so hard to describe, sorry ... cost about $2.50 for 15
They looked great & didn't cost more than $20 for 15 tables! The hall put them out for me according to the seating chart I'd given them.
good luck & have fun!

Re: For those doing table names.
Christmas bride? Do you have a picture?
Also did you write out the table name on the seating cards? I went to a wedding where they had a big easel with all the table names and everyone's assignement on it instead of place cards... don't know how I am going to do it yet.

Re: For those doing table names.
I want to name mine after Disney characters; I need 12 names. Do you think this is a good idea? Also, any suggestions on how to display them?
Thanks!

Re: For those doing table names.
Minnie, that's what FI and I were talking about doing! (We got engaged at Disney!) I would put the character's name and picture. We were deciding if we should do only old school Disney, or do some of the newer characters like Lilo and Stitch.

Re: For those doing table names.
Sept 27 ... I do have a pic ... It's just not scanned yet.
I printed the place cards with the table names instead of numbers ... like this
Mr & Mrs John Doe White Christmas
Mr & Mrs. Peter Sandwich It's a Wonderful Life
Then I let the guests wander around & find their tables. The room was not really big enough to need a seating chart, so why not? What's the difference? It's not like they'd know where their table was if it had a number on it! right? so why kill yourself on that ... unless you have a thousand extra hours ... which is great, but I didn't.
The only thing we did do was leave the tables numbered for the wait staff, so it would be easier for them, otherwise the kitchen goes crazy! I let the director of catering take care of it & she put a small # on each table for them.
whoops ... didn't read that post correctly ...
