For those getting married on a friday night........
What do you think the average time dinner will be served??
FH and I went to a wedding a couple of months ago that was on a friday night...cocktail hour started at 7 and dinner was not served until 11:15......I am going to mention to my RH that I do not want my quests to eat that late....
What do you think?

Thats a good question...I am having it on a Friday and our cocktail hour is 8-9 and i want them to serve dinner shortly after that ends. I dont want them eating that late.

That does sound late, especially since my reception will end at midnight! My cocktail hour is at 7, reception begins at 8, I guess dinner would be around 9??? I'm completely guessing though. You can ask your BM.

I think it's inevitable that they're going to be eating late. The CH will be at 8pm and there is plenty of food to tide them over until dinner. People will understand.

agreed. You don't want to feed people right after CH because they're already STUFFED from all the food at the CH. You don't want to waste the food!

I was married on a Friday and the cocktail hour was from 8:15pm to 9:15pm and after the first dance, orders were taken and meals were served. It was well before 11:00 pm though

im having it on a thursday night and our cocktail hour is at 6:30 i believe.. dinner shouldnt be served any later than 9 i would assume

Dinner is usually served one hour into the wedding.
Ie: CH from 8-9; REception from 9 - 1 - dinner would be served between 10 & 10:30

That's what I'm guessing for mine, as well. I know that they start taking dinner orders right after the toasts.

That's exactly my schedule, so dinner at 10, 10:30 seems perfect. And you got married at Fox Hollow too, right? Is that how yours went down?
