When do you think your bridal shower will be? I want to be surprised on one hand and on the other I don't want to look like a schlub! Just wondering when you gals think/know when yours is.

Re: For those getting married this Fall...
I think mine is next weekend! I kind of figured it out and then FH not knowingly confirmed it. I still don't know how they are going to get me there- no one has called me to make plans unless he did that to throw me off track hmmmmmm......

Re: For those getting married this Fall...
Funny I came upon your question right now!
I'm here in Florida w/ FH visiting my parents for a few days, and we just booked my shower for Sept 21. I have to know when it is, b/c they live here, 1 sis is pregnant & due in Aug, and my other sis works crazy hrs. So we're actually all helping plan each other's parties and such. No other way around it.

Now for those who know or think they know- do you dress up and sort of kill it for your guests, or do you dress how you would normally dress on the weekend and suck it up??? I am not sure what to do. I don't want to kill it for my sister who I know has tried so hard to surprise me cuz she knows I love surprises (meanwhile she hates them) or say too bad and wear a cute outfit so the pics come out good? (so vain)

Re: For those getting married this Fall...
i have no clue but i hope its not too close to the wedding. i don't want to have to worry about packing for the honeymoon, sorting through gifts, writing thank you'd and tying loose ends with the wedding at the same time.

Since I already know, our friends and family will also know that I know because my parents will be up visiting from FL. It won't be like anyone ruined the surprise since it's all out in the open from the beginning. I'm not sure what I'll wear yet.
But what if you give your mom, sister, or even FH an outfit you'd want to wear for the shower, tell them to hide it from you and make sure they bring it to the place so you can change after you make your entrance? The 'surprise' entrance pics won't be the same in regular clothes, but all the others will. A friend's mom did this for her surprise 18th b-day party, brought a fancy dress for her to change into, since it was a total surprise and it worked out nicely.

Re: For those getting married this Fall...
So I definitely figured it out that my shower is this SATURDAY! My mom told me last night that our good friend of the family is coming in from CT cuz she is feeling ok these days(she is currently battling Breast Cancer and undergoing Chemo) so she wants me and FH to come to my parents for lunch. Well if i wasn't sure already- that nailed the coffin! My dentist canceled my appt for Sat last week- hmmmm and my BF/MOH is in town this week at her mothers and is staying through the weekend and my BM from NC is coming up for a wedding in Jersey this weekend. it is official! now, do I wear a dress or just dress casual????

Ohhh there are a few of us having our showers on 9/14. I know when and where but don't know anything else.
But I do notice some items being purchased from my registry. It was like Christmas morning when I checked. YAY

Re: For those getting married this Fall...
I want to be surprised but I had asked for it to happen mid Aug./early Sept. but I doubt that will happens since I'm just now trying to register and FH's cousin is having an engagement party 9/20.
