did you take your ring back close to the wedding to have it cleaned? I had my wedding band made there to match my e-ring. I think I remeber the salesperson saying to me closer to the wedding bring your e ring back and we'll clean it but I'm not 100% sure anymore. It's been a few months. I tried my rings on together and my e-ring looks quite dirty compared to the band. Did any of you do this at Elsa's? TIA

I'm not with Elsa's but if your e-ring is set in White Gold its likely that it needs to be 'dipped' versus 'cleaned'... the white gold wears off over time, and when its next to a brand new piece the difference is very noticeable... Most place seem to charge anywhere from $30 to $50 so perhaps someone else using Elsa can verify whether they give you that 'free' with a ring purchase...

I got my wedding ring at Elsa's. The week before our wedding, DH and I went to Elsa's to pick up our wedding rings and at that time she cleaned and polished my ring. It looked brand new. I had it re-dipped 3 months later.

Thanks girls. Just a question about redipping, how often do you do that? My ring was my great grandmother;s so it is over 60 years old. I ahve no idea whether it has ever been dipped before. I wasn't sure if you had to keep having this done every few years.

It probably depends on the metal content of the ring, but a good jeweller will be able to give you a general idea. Personally I see a big difference between my 1 yr old e ring and my brand new wed ring, so when I get the e ring dipped just before the wedding and wear it afterwards with the wedding ring, i'm hoping they 'age' similarly... I'm thinking redipping once every year or so would be typical? If I'm REALLY careful about taking it off/wearing gloves etc when working around the house it might go longer...
I now see the advantage of PLATINUM since you wouldn't have to redip EVER. oh well!!

I'm having my ring made there and I absolutely love her. Both thimes I've been there she just makes you feel very comfortable. I have my first wax appt next week.
As far as cleanings...I'm pretty sure they'll do it. She cleaned my e-ring for me and it's not from there.

Cleaning an ering can be done anywhere. In fact, the jewelry store next to my office in Huntington does it for free.
My ering has been dipped 2x already and I have only had it for 7 months! It all depends on the chemistry of your skin and how it reacts to the gold. I have lots of skin issues, so it doesn't surprise me that my skin has reacted to it. I am actually going to get my ring reset into platinum and then get a platinum band. I think it will be cheaper and way easier in the long run.
