That is terrible. If you really want to stick it to him. Sue him for your deposit back. You can sue in small claims and it won't cost you much, and will cost him a lot of hassle or at least a large attorney fee. I know because I charge $150/hr for the firm I work at.

That's terrible! I won't even consider them now. If you really want to stick it to him, you should try telling your story to one of the news stations that do those segments like 'Help me Howard' on PIX news, where they help people who got screwed over by vendors etc. They actually go to the place, try to get your money back, and in doing so give the business really bad statewide publicity.
