For those NOT using limos

For those NOT using limos

We are considering not using limos. Actually, it's already out of the budget since we will get married at the hall. Not to mention, drop off and pick up quotes I got were like $900 - $1000 for a rolls royce (to take me & my dad to the location and then to take FI & I to the hotel after) plus two cars for the bridal party to get to and from the hotel.

If you are not using limos, how will you get back and forth to the location? Friend/relative's car?

Who will drive?

I know I'm not driving myself since I have AWFUL road rage and I don't want to drive myself anyway.

Re: For those NOT using limos

This is a topic we haven't really ironed out.....we don't need limos to get us to the hall since its five minutes from my house....but to get us back we would need one, but do we need to really spend the money on it..I am not driving, I plan on being really wired and really happy and won't drive on our wedding day, but FH had an idea of renting an exotic car for the day...and trying to take pics with it....and he'll drive it back...BUT the prices for that are more than a limo..so we are completely at a loss...if you figure something out, let me know...

we didn't use limos....my sister drove me from the hotel where we shared a room the night before. DH had driven himself to the hall so his car was there and then we drove to his house to get our luggage then to the hotel to meet up with friends at the bar for awhile after the wedding.

A car picked ups up to go to the airport for our HM at 4am...we left DH keys at the front desk for his dad to pick up later that day to take our car home.

We drove ourselves there and used the bridal suite to get ready. We rented a bus for all of our out of town guests and family to get to and from the hotel, we just hopped on that at the end.

FH is getting picked up by his BM a the hotel.

I'll be getting ready at the house but me and MOH will be driving to reception hall very early for all pictures. I'll put my dress on in the bridal suite.

Because all immediate family are arriving early for pictures all are driving. FFIL will probably rent a mini van. He usually does when FSIL, hubby and three kids fly into town.

OOT guests, most will have cars. They are on their own. Maybe if I was getting married in Nassau county and reception was WAY out east I'd consider a bus but then again everyone would have to leave at the same time too.

Okay, just found out the FI's cousin's boyfriend runs a car service (or maybe just works for them?) Not sure yet. Maybe we can use them?

That means adding the cousin back to the list though. I cut her since she kind of irritates me (calls in the middle of the night ALL THE TIME) and she is one of like 10 kids (which means inviting her and her boyfriend could mean 10 more invites and potentially 20 more people)

Maybe we can just rent towncars? Or use my family members cars since I know a lot of them will drive rather than fly to NY from VA.

my mom had a car and driver for us but she wanted to do that...otherwise, she would've driven me, dh was driven by best man and everyone else got their themselves or through parents/so. going back, we went back with dh's parents.

I am still undecided about this. My reception hall and ceremony are in the same place and Ilive 45 minutes away. If i get ready at home, I will put my dress on at the Catering Hall. It does save a lot of money.

Have u tried Royalty Limos. I know they offer pick up and drop off service that is cheaper than most.

If i stay at a hotel i might have one limo to pick up the guys, b/c they will be stayin at a hotel that is close also, and then pick up me and the bridesmaids.

I too am undecided about limos. I haven't chosen a place yet, but if I get my way, it'll be Vanderbilt and that's less then 1 1/2 miles from my house and we will have the ceremony there also. Unfortunately, no one has any classy or high-end cars to borrow, so we still have to research.

we're not planning on hiring one either. We don't have it all ironed out. We'll have family member drive us home. But, you might want to just hire a private car service. They have really nice town car limos that just aren't stretches, but much less expensive. It would probably cost you $50 to have one take you home depending on how far from home you are.

You could just go with your dad, he'd need to rive or go with have asoemoen who would be takign him hoem anyway.
I would look into the cost for just a ride to the hotel from the reception, it was kinda ncie to have that time alone. Otherwise, make sure somone reliable with a big car can take you.
Our limo wa sonly about $400, but we just had the 1 car from before church till Ch, and then pick up after.

town cars will probably work. It will just be from the hotel to the hall for us anyway.
