For those of u who dont like the idea of strippers...
Original post by AeroJenn
If your FH or DH is invited to a friend's bachelor party and you know they are going to be hiring strippers....what do you do?
I personally hate strippers and FH and I agreed no strippers at his Bachelor party. BUT if one of his friends is having his, I would feel bad telling FH im not cool with him going....but in all honesty, i dont think i could stomach it.

I say that you just have to trust his judgement and know that he will handle himself appropriately in this situation. Let him go, if you trust him, it really should not be that big of a deal.
I agree.
yup
me too!!! You cannot tell him not to go, esp if you trust him, if you tell him not to go he may resent you for it.
I disagree. To me, it's not about trust - it's about respect. If he knows I have such very strong feelings about it, then he should be able to respect that. I'm not asking a lot by asking that he not go to strip clubs / hire a stripper.
Plenty of people feel differently about it, and that's fine -- but if she feels strongly about it, I don't think it's unreasonable to request he not have strippers.
ETA -- It's not that I think anyone who has strippers or lets their FH has strippers is wrong or anything... It's just not for me... and I feel that if someone feels that strongly about something like this, their feelings should be respected.
But I also think that you have to be honest with yourself as to why you have a problem with strippers and get to the heart of the problem-- it just may be a trust issue - just my own opinion, i don't mean to offend anyone

When it came time for my brothers bachelor party his friends wanted to have strippers there. I was talking to a friend about it and he said my brother is younge and will soon learn an important lesson. He said why pay money to see a stripper when he has a wife at home which he will be paying for the rest of his life.

I told him there was to be NO touching and NO lap dances but I understand him wanting to follow bachelor party traditions. I will be having a stripper at mine hehehe

I'm sooo against strippers. I personally find it offensive, and I would hate for him to have a stripped at his bachelor party.
We're actually arguing over this right now because he's going to Mardi Gras in Feb. with some friends, but wants to go to Vegas for his party. I said there's no need to go all the way to Vegas to be with his friends. Just go to AC. Anyway, he's not to comfortable with strippers himself, so hopefully he expresses this to his brother. I know he won't but wishfull thinking right?
As for your question.....you just have to trust him. My FH has gone to a few parties recently and I haven't said anything. I know he won't get a lap dance or anything.

Nope, not at all. It has nothing to do with trust. I would probably offend some people if I posted my true feelings about strippers on here, but bottom line is that I find the whole idea of them disgusting and degrading. It has absolutely nothing to do with trust.
ETA - FH isn't into strippers, anyway, and wasn't planning on having them... The joint party was actually his idea. He just thinks it'll be more fun to celebrate together, and I agree.

You couldn't have stated my views any better then I could have.. I feel the same exact way. He has known my pov on the stripper/club issue since we got togheter he knew that there would be no more and that means other peoples BP's too. And he respects my feelings and will not attend. I say lay it out there honestly to your FH and hopefully it will work out for you.. Im here to FM if you need to chat, i know sometimes its an upsetting topic to some of us girls

Re: For those of u who dont like the idea of strippers...
I think that it's about BOTH trust and respect.
I trust my FH completely.... and I wouldn't be thrilled if he had strippers at his BP. He knows my opinion on the subject and I think it would be very disrespectful if he then went ahead and got strippers. If his friends got the stippers... then I trust the FH would make the right decision and STILL respect my wishes, regardless of what his friends might think. It wouldn't bother me if FH went to WATCH strippers with his friends... its the lap dances and whatever else that strippers do that would bother me. BUT i know my FH, and i know he'd do the right this. PLUS, he has already told his best man and friends that he doesn't want stippers -- he thinks that they are disgusting, and is NOT turned on by them! (He went once when we were dating, and was completely disgusted and embarrased!)
Anyway, I think that it's about trust and respect. Trust that FH will respect your opinion on the subject and do the right thin, no matter what situation he is put in.

I don't think it has to be about one thing or another - every person is different. Some girls may not trust their man, some girls have a huge problem with it because they just don't like some chick rubbing on their man, and other people are fine with that. It's all about personal limitations.
I used to not care AT ALL about strippers - heck I've even been to a few clubs (male and female) and been to parties where they are hired. Things have changed in the last few years, and I'm not a huge fan anymore, but it doesn't bother me so much that I tell FH no. In fact, just a few weeks ago one of our joint friends took him to one after we all went to dinner. I wasn't thrilled, but I wasn't mad either. I just told FH I didn't love it - that's it. That doesn't mean if another girl is fine with that they're wrong, nor is someone who is totally against it wrong. Everyone is different!

Ditto. If it is his friend's bachelor party then there is nothing that can be done about it. Its the groom's party after all.
