What kind of decorations are you planning on using to decorate the surroundings...

Re: For those of you having ur ceremony at ur reception hall..
We had ours outside at our RH. We had an archway, we had pillars with flowers next to every other row, we had a runner with flowers sprayed along side.

We are using hardly any. Our RH is right on the Long Island sound so the view is our decorations.

How about just some lights..like the xmas kind in white.. strategically placed with maybe some tulle you can really change a place and it's inexpensive (especially when it' s 90% off after x-mas lol

Re: For those of you having ur ceremony at ur reception hall..
I am getting married at the swan club but in the pavillion room i am having my ceremony. All I am doing for decorations is one arrangement on each side of us and not the fresh flower arch because 1 you can take the flowers home 2 its cheaper and 3 i wanted some color not just all white which if ur not getting it done by a florist the place always does white unless u ask for something else in that case its extra $ and the tooling they provide on the ceiling remeber u want people paying attention to u not the flowers!!!

They have 'rope lighting' at Target. Its a tube and has lights in them. They'll be dirt cheap after Xmas, and they come in colors or white.

My Florist is decorating the canopy with tulle and flowers and he is also putting 2 pedestals in the front of the isle with arrangements that will be moved into the Reception room after the ceremony.
I am also having an isle runner with rose petals.

We're just lining the aisle with rose petals. The ceremony is only 15-20 minutes long so I didn't want to waste money on extra flowers.

Re: For those of you having ur ceremony at ur reception hall..
Not sure yet, and the worst part is that I haven't seen and won't see the actualy location for the reception or ceremony until several days before my wedding. I have only seen pictures.
YIKES!!!!
I am leaning towards just a runner and 2 free standing floor candleabra's on either side to mark the altar area.
Plus, I am tying petal cones to the out-facing side of every ones chair for them to throw when we walk back down the aisle as man-and-wife.
Oh - and since it's an outdoor ceremony at sunset, I am lining the aisle way with votives...probably about 75 all together.
PS...My theme is Candles...'Kisses by Candlelight'

The view of the Great South Bay really helps us but were also having a personalized aisle runner with flower petals and stands with pillar candles with some gardenias.

You're using an aisle runner? I asked Bill about it and he said that it wasn't a good idea because the wind generally blows it around.

Some things I'm considering: an elaborate ceremony arch, rose petals at various places (like on the stairs), tube lighting, photos of relative's weddings in the lounge space, and candles/potpurri in various spots. I put some inspirational pics in my album here: http://www.nycityweddings.com/weddings/mirume/Album-806.html
