I am but it will be after the wedding..... we're paying for the wedding but they'll give us a $ gift the night before; plus the 'rents are putting up lots of out of towners so we really do need to get them something! My Mom doesn't even want us to do that, but we think its only right, even though they're not 'paying' for the w'ing they've made a significant contribution!!

This may sound cold-hearted...but my parents aren't contributing at all to our wedding, why would I get them a gift?

My thoughts exactly. What do I say, 'Thanks for nothing'?

That's my case with FFIL, my mom is the one paying for almost the entire wedding so I told FH that we have to get her a nice gift as a way of thanking her for saving us so much money (origninally we were going to pay for the wedding ourselves) and then he ask me what are we gaving to his parent??? I was like rghhh a Thank you card for been present at the weeding (and probably bringing people that we dont invite)

This may sound cold but I would rather get my FMIL a gift to go away for the day of the wedding.
She is wretched and after her colorful comments about the wedding I wish her nothing but the worst...........
MY rents of course I am going to get them something but I think we are going to stay upstate and watch the horses and give them some time away together as a gift!!!!

We are paying for everything ourselves so we are not buying them anything.
I bought them all personalized handkerchiefs but that was only a sentimental thought.

I was b/c of these comments. WHen I read the first post I was like I'm paying for everything, why am I spending more money to buy the parents a gift? Glad I'm not the only 'cold-hearted' person here...

Were not going all out as far as I know. We really didn't talk about it a lot, maybe we'll just give them a pic or something and that is a big MAYBE!

Wow, I don't know what situations other people are in, but my mom just can't afford to help out. I will be getting her a gift though, to say THANKS for being my mom and supporting me my entire life!

we'll prob take FMIL out to dinner or something like that to thank her for her contribution to the wedding. my mother is paying nothing, so call me cold, but i have a lot of other things to spend money on. it seems weird to get someone a gift for your own wedding when they're not helping w/ expenses.

We are paying for the wedding ourselves--but the parents are giving us money to put towards a house----I am not going to get them anything huge--cause they would be mad at us spending money on them, but I think a gift card to a nice restaurant should do it.
