Did the guests know to throw petals, etc. at you while you both were walking down the aisle? I am afraid people wont know to do this.

I had the same concern. I'm going to ask our Ushers to tell the guests what its for when they hand it out. My bm had a sign in her basket that asked the guest to throw it after they say I do.

You couls ask your officiant to say something like
and as the new mr and mrs walk down the aisle as husband and wife for the first time please shower them with ___
I dunno.. just an idea?

We are actually going to save the throwing of rose petals for when we leave the hall after the reception. I am making rose petal cone holders and will have the attendant hand them out and arrange a walkway for us and instruct people to throw them when as we leave.

I wanted to have my ushers hand out the petal cones, but my hall said not to worry about it that they would handle it. I feel like there were a ton of extra cones left, so they must not have handled it all that well. I would suggest having your groomsmen or younger family members hand out whatever you want thrown or blown.

we had people blow bubbles when we got off the boat at CLM, but if you want people to throw rose petals or something you could leave them on the ceremony seats. You could also make sure certain family members know to do it, once they start everyone will go along with it.

What we did was we got those New Years Eve type poppers (but wedding themed) and had a basket out front (Russo's put out a table) and my sister just passed the word that they were out there. It came out great and when we were coming down the aisle you heard pop pop pop, like fireworks...we loved it!!!
