FOr those of you who booked their honeymoon

Did you go through a travel agent of did you book on your own via the internet? Which is better? Cheaper?

I booked mine on expedia. I got an awesome deal on airfare and hotel in Alaska. I spoke to a few travel agents, and they said that a lot of the time, what you find online will be just as good if not better than what a travel agent can get you.

So - I would recommend you look up what you want on expedia, travelocity, etc - and then go to a TA and see what they can do (don't tell them you got a price online until AFTER they give you the price, to see if it gets better). Good luck!

we booked through a travel agen and he got us a great deal on the airfare and hooked us up with tons of upgrades with the hotel. I just felt at ease knowing that every detail was taken care of and I didnt have to worry about forgetting something. Plus we are able to pay the HM off over time. The balance is not due until right before the wedding. FM me if you want details

ps, i used a TA. we had so many requirements for our HM (wheelchair accessibility, private, not a big hotel, etc) that it made it so much easier to get someone to search and answer all our questions.

I did a lot of research on the internet, found the best deal on americanexpress.com/travel, then took that printed quote to Liberty Travel and they matched that quote (I had a gift certificate to Liberty Travel, so I went there, otherwise would have gone through AMEX)

First I booked it through a travel agent and they tried to change the plan, so my moms friend who owns a travel agent p/t helped us out. I don't know why I didn't think of her in the first place.

It depends where you are going. I'm going to Tahiti/Moorea/Bora Bora so I used a TA. There are to many transfers to do yourself plus with the travel agent the airport/hotel transfers were included. If I booked online we would have been responsible for those as well. The TA also got us upgrades and honeymoon gifts.

I am using Travel Tom and he has been nothing but amazing. We booked something, A day later we changed our mind. He was so patient with us. Last week he called to tell me our cruise was cancelled so now we are working again to find something we like.

I used a travel agent. Mostly because it was our honeymoon and I didn't want to have to worry about dealing with anything. I think they also get deals that the public and travel sites dont get. Its def worth it to talk to one and to get a quote.

I booked ours to Greece myself. I found tripadvisor.com to be very helpful.

We did it on our own b/c I called a travel agent for a price. She gave me the same prices as I found on the internet and she then said if we book it with her there is a charge so it would of been more $.

We went with a travel agent, I just didn't want any problems in case of bad weather, hurricanes, etc. We priced some things ourselves online, and basically came up with the same numbers that the travel agent gave us. HTH

we are using dawn form cruise one. she is a vendor on LIW and she is the best. i usually plan our own vacations but we have never been on a cruise and i just couldnt devote myself to it while planning this wedding. it allevaites a lot of stress.
