For those of you who Cruise....

What ships have you been on???

We decided to throw a Cruise into the mix for our mini-moon... maybe like a 5 or 6 night cruise out of Florida...

leaving from NY is sooooo much easier! less of a hassle with airports, flights & luggage nonsense ... you could do the caribbean from NY but if you want to stay under 7 days, you could do a 5 day to new england or bermuda ... we're considering the caribbean princess to new england for 7 days cause we're not going to aruba til feb ...

i've been on the caribbean princess, crown princess, carnival miracle, carnival legend and explorer of the seas ...

I've been on Royal Carib, Celebrity, Princess, Carnival & NCL.... Celebrity is reallyy fancy and has great food. I personally liked NCL bc we had a lot of dining choices....Lots to do on Royal Carib & Carnival.

I have been on Celebrity, don't remember the ship name, Disney, all the ships, and Royal Caribbean, Freedom of the Seas. Next year we are planning on going on one of Royal's new ships.

I've been on Carnical and Royal Carrbiean. I like them both but have cruised Carnival more.

We did the Carnival Valor 7 day western carribean cruise 2 years ago and it was awesome! Left from Miami, went to Belize, Isla Roatan (hondorus), Cozumel & Grand Caymen. They were all awesome! Belize was incredible! We climed the Myan Ruins in the middle of a rain forest. I highly reccomend this trip!

i love ncl. u do whatever uw ant and u can wear WHATEVERRRRR u want. BUT the portions of food are soooo tiny..its like a joke. yes, u can order 10 things( i do) but to be hungry and order fried calamari and to get 4 rings is kind of insulting lol. but eating whenever u want means u have to make sure u eat at a time where u wont miss a show

royal, u get huge NORMAL portions at dinner, but u have to sit with ppl and dine at a specific time..which isnt bad because u never miss a show but sometimes we just want to be alone..so we can always go to the buffet (which we do anyway cuz we're pigs)

i think celebrity will be tough for us. well, not me..but def DH. we are doing a 14 day cruise in Novemeber. its catered to older folks..so we'll def be the youngest ones on board..and theres 3..yes THREE formal nights. dh will divorce me. i hate being told what to wear...but i dress up anyway on vaca.. i just HATE ironing his clothes. and i have to get him clip on ties bleh

We've done carnival and princess. Loved both but if I had to choose one over the other.. princess. I would def go on a carnival again though! Princes was fancier, food was better, entertainment great on both. Really each had different qualities.

We went on Celebrity for part of our HM and we had 2 formal nights.
There really is a mix of styles because a lot of people just do whats necessary. For example, I saw a lot of women wearing simple summer dresses which you will probably wear anyway
And as for the guys ties are not required, jus jackets..and a lot of them didnt even bother. It's not like they weren't allowed in a particular place because of it.
DH wore suits both nights and I wore cocktail dresses and we felt over dressed at times.

SO i think you will be ok...its not really that big a deal
