I hate having to say goodbye. I'm so sad right now. After spending the weekend with FH it just feels so horrible to have to leave him; I hate this! I just feel like we should be living together, and now that we're engaged, it makes it so much more difficult to have to go home to my parents' house. I love my family, and I know that they do all that they can for me, but I just don't feel like there home is my home anymore. We're not moving in together until April...an eternity away. (On top of that, we live 45 min away from each other, and we've been making the commute to see one another for five years!!!!) Anyone dealing with a similar situation? Those of you living with your FH you really are so lucky that every night you get to lie in bed next to him.

Couldn't say it better myself!! I have been living away from FH (around 1.5 hours) for our whole 5 year relationship!! I can't stand it and it is horrible to deal with every week!! I'm always so jealous when I see a couple driving or when everyone talks about their homes with their FH....don't get me wrong, I'm sooo happy for those who already live with their FH...I just wish it was me I feel like half of me is missing and I don't even see him every weekend...I totally feel your pain!! I'm here for you if you need!!

FH and I lived in completely different countries fro a while (when he was deployed to Iraq TWICE). It is the hardest thing! We dont live together now and we wont until after we are married - thats just how my family is and while i get mad about it now, i think if i did move in with him now, i would be disappointed when we got married for lack of the newlywed feeling

I know...and I always believed that I wanted to be engaged b4 I moved in w/him (and the commute didn't really bother me b4 we were engaged)...That's just the way I am...the suspense of calling my home his home is just killing me...and while I know that we've been doing it for this long and only have a few more months to go, it just drives me crazy b/c he's stuck in my mind 24/7 and I just want to be with him all the time...

awe that stinks! We won't live together til the wedding night either. We are going to get an apartment and HE will start living there starting November 3, and I won't move in until the 3rd! I want it to be special and it would feel weird living together without being married first. Plus his and my parents would like that too.

Re: for those of you who don't yet live with FH
I started crying today thinking about how I had to go back to my apartment which is over an hour away...it does suck, big time. However, we will be together for the rest of my life, I just tell myself that to get through it!

Re: for those of you who don't yet live with FH
I know EXACTLY what you mean - We've been together for almost 8years and I've been through the same thing. FH and I met in high school and then 6 months later FH went away to school in NJ - an hour and a half away. He stayed for the first year and then was home for two years and then went back to NJ for college again (same college). We've lived apart for that time until last May when he finally moved back home for good. Now we only live 15 minutes from each other but it still really bites to have to go home and not see each other everyday. It's very hard. We will not be living together until we get married!! FH wanted us living together to be special. I know what you are going through!!

I also do not live with FH and it is hard. I am fortunate that we only live five minutes apart. But I always think of what I have to look forward to when I get married. And this year is gonna go by so fast.

Re: for those of you who don't yet live with FH
i'm dealing w/ the same situation except we're 1.5 hour away by plane totally sux and we've been doing this for almost 3 years!
Ladies! Enjoy it while you can! I know that sounds mean but i'm telling you that things certainly change! I wish so badly that me and FH didn't live together yet. I miss it. We don't snuggle up every night like we did when we didn't live together. We don't do alot of things now that we live together. Don't get me wrong- I love living with FH but I miss that whole excitement thing. Waiting for him to call, getting all dressed up to go out and having to see his reaction when he sees me. Now he sees me getting ready and I get a - you look nice. Ok, but it's nothing compared to what he used to say! It's just different. When the comfy factor sets in things are a little different. You have your whole life to enjoy each others company. For now, just enjoy the excitement of the next time you are going to see him. When you talk on the phone but can't see each other and you kind of yearn inside. I know, I know! But you don't get that back. Cherish your time apart and it makes your time together that much sweeter!

I live about 45 minutes from FH too. I live with my parents and he has an apartment. But he lives only 2 miles from my job, so I visit overnight once or twice a week.
But leaving at night *****. I can't wait until we're married and I dont have to go home.

We're in the same boat-we are only 20 minutes away-but we have been driving to be together for 8 years-we are looking for houses right now and it's torture. Everytime I leave him-I want to cry-and sometimes I do.

Same here. I couldnt see myself moving in with anyone before marriage. To me (no offense to anyone already living with FH) is the only way it seems right..more special in my eyes. But dont worry girl..time is going to zoom by!!

Your words could have easily been mine. I know what you mean by things change. It's sad, but true. I miss the excitement of seeing each other after days apart. Now I'm sometimes lucky to get a kiss when he comes home at night after a long day. I find we don't go out as much as we used to. Most nights he now just wants to stay in and watch TV and I'm lucky to get any control over what we watch. Sometimes it's hard to deal with him stealing the covers or snoring really loud too. But on the other hand, I love how much closer we are in a different way. We take care of each other and depend on each other in so many ways. You can't beat the comfort of just having him next to you each night. For those of you counting down the days until you live together...cherish this time while you can and know it will be here sooner than you think.
