Was it what you orginally had pictured it to be, or is it something you never would have imagined yourself wearing? I have seen many people post that they would have never picked out their dress themselves if the attendant in the store hadn't helped. I know I had this experience myself. I thought I wanted something really simple, with no beading or anything and not strapless! And what did I wind up ordering? A strapless gown with lots of beading, crystals, and embroidery! Go figure!

Just like most of the others, mine was so different than I ever thought I'd get. I pictured myself in a very simple, plain, elegant dress. The one I bought is all lace qith tiny sequins. Go figure. It pays to keep an open mind.

I originally wanted an A-Line dress with little detail, not too much beading with red in it somehow. I was the anti-bride and did not think the all white princess look would be me. I fell in love with one dress with red trim, but honestly, it made my broad shouders look even bigger. The dress I ended up getting? Beading, crystals and pearls EVERYWHERE, all white with silver embroidery and ballgown!! The exact opposite of what I was going for, but who would have guessed it made me look thinner and like the princess my mother says I deserve to look like?
And to think....my mother picked my dress and it was the first one I tried on in the shop...I guess mothers know best!!

It was everything I needed it to be. My dress had to serve the function of covering a tattoo between my shoulderblades. In this world of never ending strapless dresses, that was nearly impossible. But I found the one I needed and to tell you the truth, I would have worn it regardless.

I got exactly what I had wanted.. no beads,lace,crystals,foo-foo extras, bows, sparkles.. nada. I wanted plain and thats what I got. Although I didn't think I would be fortunate enough to get such a pricey dress, but my parents helped me get it so I am very thankful for their generosity!

I thought I'd get a gown like Caroline Bissette Kennedy worn when she married JFK - VERY simple. Mine is pretty fitted but it is SO beaded - complete opposite of what I originally wanted. Strangely enough, I'm the one who took it off of the rack.
