people are invited to you shower?? I found a list at my fmil's house with like 35-40 names on it!! - just from her side theres still my side of the family and my friends. I dont want a big shower... just people I am close to ... some of the people on my fmil's list I have never even met!! or met once or twice at most Just curious to know how many people are invited for those who know....
eta - I am assuming my shower is girls only b/c the list was all females

All women - 80 people - I know everyone (a few from FH's side I don't know WELL, but I have met them)

Are you involved with planning the shower? If not, I wouldnt worry about it. A good friend of mine just had her shower last month. The original list contained more than 100 names on it and the bride was flipping out when she heard. But once they got the final bill of how much it would cost, the list was cut to 50. There were about 40 ladies at the shower. Maybe what you saw was a rough draft. Plus its your shower, the more people the more gifts!!

Sounds like you are gunna have a big shower , my dear!! Yikes!! (you are right, its definitely an 'Italian thing' .. LOL)
I didn't even WANT a shower because its just not my thing (and I didn't even register!). Yet I know I'm getting one and I'm not very happy about it!
Anyhoo.. amongst other things the main reason I didn't want one is that 3/4 the people there are Mom's and FMIL's friends, the thought of which bores me (sorry that sounds horrible, but its true). I think there is going to be around 50 people, if I'm lucky maybe 7 are MY friends .. !!!
I don't know why exactly but the shower thing stresses me out the most in this entire process!!! My FH says its because this is the one thing that is completely OUT of my control and I have to sit back and let OTHER people do it .. he's probably right!!

wow you just read my mind!!!!! i was so suprised how many people were on the list!!!! She said a good 15 wont come due to being OOT or whatever, but still...... Oh well, it is more gifts i guess lol. She will be helping my mom plan the whole thing too so its not a big deal, i was just suprised when i saw it and didnt recognize some of the names... good luck

Ohmigod this is so great to hear!!! I dont want a shower either... well I do.. but with my close family and friends... not my fmil's friends who I dont even know!! - the WORST part is that its like a HUGE offense when you get an invitation like this and its someone who is closely related to you and you dont go. Unless you are like on vacation or sick or someone you know died....im sure EVERYONE that I saw on that list is going to show up!!! I hate being the center of attention and I know im going to be so bored and feel like im ' on the spot' at all times.... thats the reason I wanted it close friends so I can relax and enjoy myself.... now im going to be soooooo stressed out

FH & I are both italian! We have family coming out of our ears!
