For those of you who used table names: POLL

Instead of numbers, did your guests have a hard time finding there tables? Was it disorganized? Also, if you went to a wedding that did this, what did you think?

Went to a wedding on a yacht and the tables were named for 'places.' We were at the Rockefeller Center table. We walked around for a while and didn't find it. There were tons of tables and didn't know even if we were close to our table. Finally we saw some people who we knew were at the same table and they were sitting so we joined them. On the table was a VERY SMALL frame (3x5) of a picture of RC. I think that it's a great idea to name the tables as long as they are easy to see and maybe a map?

I'd love to know this too...my Dad is driving me crazy with this, saying 'people won't know where to go.' I'm thinking of having a seating chart with the layout of the tables next to the table cards.

It's for my sister's wedding, and there are only 14 tables, my mother is bugging out that it'll be too confusing....I think it's fine....it's only 14 tables, how hard could it be to find 1 in 14???

We did it and it worked out fine. We had large double sided signs and the names were in alphabetical order

we did it in alphabetical order also. i bought photo clips and placed a large card in them.

I am planning to name tables, but I think I will use numbers, too. We're going to use song titles and our place cards will be CDs with all the songs. The table number will correspond to the track number of the song.

That's my plan, anyway. I'll let you know in exactly 6 months how the execution goes......
