If I'm schedule to get my period the week of my wedding, anybody know what to do to offset it a week or two? Do I just continue to take the white pills and skip the sugar pills? How long can you do this for? Help!

Re: For those on the Pill
MY OBGYN told me not to start a new pack b/c I may spot. I have to take the pills from the last week from a new pack. So say my last week of 'active ' pills are white I take another week of white pills from anew pack and throw the rest away. It seems like a waste but I won't have my period on my honeymoon. Ask your Dr. for a sample of your pills .

Re: For those on the Pill
You should absolutely positively check with your doctor before you alter your pill cycle. The pill is a powerful drug that can have some very nasty side effects. I know because I have spent the last 2 1/2 months recovering from an extensive blood clot on my left side that my doctors believe was caused by my taking the pill for 6 years. I spent 17 days in the hospital, including 6 days in ICU and had to have 2 surgical procedures done to help get blood flow back into that part of my body. I do not mean to scare anyone but you really do need to be careful. You should never take any drug other than how it is prescribed, without speaking to your doctor first.
Best of luck to you.

Re: For those on the Pill
I usually just start the next pack if I want o skip my period and I have done this for 2 moths straight at a time and have had no problems, just when I finally have my period it is a bit heavier.

Re: For those on the Pill
This is soooo weird. I woke up this morning with the same thought in my mind. I will not have my period on my wedding , but we're going on our Honeymoon two weeks after the wedding and I will be getting it the day we leave. I'm going to call my doctor to see if there's something I can do. I would definitly talk to your doctor before you try anything.

Re: For those on the Pill
yes, do not skip the placebos and take the next month, you will get very bloated and could have breakthrough bleeding. how far away is your wedding? what you can do is take one extra pill (buy your next packs in advance) each month up until your wedding, and you will move your period back a week after 7 months....
