If anyone is interested in the Vatican there is a tour of the excavations below St. Peters that you can apply for. Basically you let them know when you are in town and they email you back with a time to show up. For us it was worth it because you saw the history of St Peters, the catacombs below it and St. Peters tomb. If your interested .....

email [email protected] and tell them your names, where you are staying, the dates you staying and the prefered language of the tour. It think it was 10 euro each but so worth it. It takes them time to email you back and once you hear from them you need to reserve with your credit card.

Definitley reserve early.
