For those that booked their honeymoons.....

I am a travel moron....
When you book a hm, how does it work? Do you leave a deposit? When do you pay for it?

We're going on a cruise and then to disney. The cruise we left a deposit and have to pay the total about a month before. At disney we left a deposit of one room night and don't have to pay until we are leaving the hotel.

We put a deposit and have to pay the remaining balance 45 days before.

I left a deposit when I booked and I have to pay the balance about 45 days befor my trip.

We did the same thing, but we made payments before our final payment was due.

For us, we were quoted the total price-including airfare. We were charged the deposit, airfare, and travel insurance. The balance is due 45 days before.

I think that if you use a travel agent and book the whole trip through them, you have to pay a deposit and then the balance is due sometime before the trip. I booked everything separately (air, hotel) - airfare is paid all upfront, but the hotel is letting us pay the majority of the bill at checkout!
