For those that hired wedding planners.....

Can anyone either post or fm me informal quotes as to how much it would cost to hire someone to plan my wedding? I already have the hall and the church and a budget of approximately 30,000.
Between the wedding, full time school and buying a house, I literally feel like my sanity is evaporating- and this wedding planning stuff is REALLY not fun for me (I have no time to get to NY).
I tried posting this to actual vendors, but everyone says 'give me a call the next time you're in NY to discuss prices.' NEWSFLASH -I can't get to NY - that's why I want a wedding planner.

PLEASE OH PLEASE - tell me I'm not the only anti-bride on here?!

Re: For those that hired wedding planners.....

With wedding planners, as opposed to day of coordinators, the general rule of thumb is that they can be compensated in one of two ways. Either they receive a percentage of the total budget or a flat fee. With either, ALWAYS inquire of them (and ask them to include in contract) that they do not receive a kickback from vendors that they recommend -- this is critical --> you want them working for you to protect you.

Funny you said that -- there is a bride here under the screen name 'Anti-bride' so your last comment made me smile. Don't let her name fool you though, she is really a sweetie!

Re: For those that hired wedding planners.....

You should post on the Vendors board.

I used Laura from LA Productions and highly recommend her. She's a vendor on here.
