For those who already had their shower.....

Did you make a speech thanking everyone? My shower is this weekend and I am so nervous about this. I know I shouldnt be because it is all my friends and family but I hate speaking in front of that many people. I already have to make sure I formally thank FH's family because they all sent the gifts to my house already but I really didnt want to make a long speech, just more of a quick thank you to those who sent the gifts to my house already. Hopefully it wont be as bad as I am making it in my head and with a few drinks I wont care

After I opened all my gifts I gave a quick 'Thank You Speech'. I won't stress over it. Short and sweet is my motto.

I didn't so much make a speech as just say thank you to everyone for being so generous, etc....and talking to ppl individually....people were all socializing with each other most of the time anyway, it wasn't like there was a speech moment....you'll be fine!

I didn't make a speech. I am also not having a RD so I don't plan on making speeches but writing cards to everyone for when they open their presents.

Thats the whole problem I am planning on thanking everyone as I go around to the tables so I really didnt want to have to make a speech because I always sound stupid and stumble over my words and my voice gets shakey. Its terrible, I just dont want to be speaking to a silent room while everyone stares at me because that is so awkward.

I think it is a nice idea! But I think you could thank everyone while you mingle too.. if you dont want to say a 'speech'

I didn't make a speach but I did say thank you to everyone personally as I opened each gift. Don't worry you will be fine...

I thanked everyone on an individual basis , as I was opening gifts . My mom gave a little toast with champage ( which we drank all afternoon ) thanking everyone for comming ect since she was the host of my shower

MY sisters (BM) made a speech and a quick toast at the beggining to thank everyone for coming. I added a few words and that was it. Then I thanked everyone at the end of the party!

i didnt do a speach, my MOH did though. i just said a quick thank you to everyone @ the end.

I am sure either my mom or sister will make a toast so I dont think it will be terrible if I dont make my own separate speech. The only thing that ***** is I know FH's family is expecting me to say something because they asked FH how everyone is going to know what they got me.

I hate that I am stressing over this because I am making myself all nervous and I just want to go to my shower and have a great time.

Actually...I am thinking that you should just thank them as soon as you see them! Like when you hug them hello

If you're worried about a silent room, I wouldn't! Even while I was opening presents people were talking! There was hardly a silent moment! Of course, that may just be our noisy families!!!
