C. Both
I think the Catholic church needs someone revolutionary to bring their parisioners back. They're also in need of some good priests and I think allowing women and married people to become priests would be wonderful.
Unfortunately, I think we're far, far away from any of these things happening.

I think if Priests were allowed to marry there would be more Priests in the priesthood.
I don't think that women should be priests though.
I'm curious, why?
I hesitate in answering this because I don't want to throw myself into a huge argument and p*ss a lot of people off. I think this issue is like the abortion issue - you're either for it or against it and it's rare that anyone else's point of view is going to change your mind.
However, I feel that women should not be priests for a couple of reasons. First, I feel there is a sense of tradition - women have never been priests - the male priesthood is 2,000 years old, and I don't think it should be dismissed lightly. Secondly, all of the apostles were men. They were the ones that Christ passed on the responsibility of spreading his gospel and establishing the Church. Jesus never said 'I must have male priests', but the apostles were men and their descendents became the priests. Third, Christ was male, and when the priest is on the alter, he represents Christ. Personally, I don't think women should be priests, I dont think it was intended that way and I dont think it should be that way now. I also don't think that it's sexist. Women can play very important roles in the Church without having to be behind the alter.

I was going to write the exact same things as you did but I did not want to start an argument either.

Eire, I don't agree with you, but I respect your opinion. No fight here.

Re: For those who are Catholic
I do not have any comment on women being priests - however I am very angry and I think the Catholic Church should look into this further. For those of us that are getting married for the first time to a FH that has been married already. The cost of obtaining a Catholic Annulment is ridiculous, I think the Catholic Church should look into that a little further.

Both, especially C- I think it would help people relate to the church more if the priests were married.
