For those who are lawyers or law students

Random Q, which Bar prep course do you recommend? I take the bar in July, and currently am registered with Bar-Bri, but have been told to switch to pieper. Do any of you have experience with them, and which is better?

TIA

Everyone I know has done BARBRI, I've never even heard of the other one...

I took Barbri, but am still waiting for my bar results. There was a ton on the test we didn't learn in bar prep, but it is comforting that most people took barbri so most people didn't learn it. Call each company and ask about the learning methods they use and decide which one is right for you. I wanted to be with my friends and they were all taking barbri - I am a group studier and would not have made it through without my friends. Good luck!

I don't recommend pieper. Take Barbri and double up with PMBR. The PMBR class itself isn't all that helpful, what is helpful is there CD's and books. Hands down the PMBR books were more similar to the actual bar than the Barbri ones. I also listened to their CD's when I was driving. I think they have really good lecturers on it. Barbri is only good for their classes. Good luck.

I did Barbri, pretty much everyone I knew did. I definitely agree with the person who suggested doing PMBR also, their practice questions really help and are much more like the actually bar MBE questions than Barbri

I took Pieper and PMBR. I LOVED Pieper, passed the bar the first time and did very well on the multistate. It is VERY diff from BarBri, but I really liked the way the class was taught and feel like it really helped me retain the info. I would def recommend Pieper!

I took Barbri but I know people who took both. Pieper was more taking notes the enitre time on your computer whereas Barbri had handouts where you just fill in the blank. I guess it depends on how you learn and retain info better. Also, Barbri had more practice tests that Pieper.

I would definitely recommend Barbri over Pieper. Also, definitely take PMBR for the multistate - it's the best thing you can do.

As long as you take either one, go to all the classes, and do as much of the work as you can, you'll be fine. Whichever one you choose, definitely take PMBR, though.

I took Bar/Bri + the 3-day PMBR. I passed the first time and scored high enough on the multistate to be admitted in DC.

ok, thanks.

I am a PMBR Rep on my campus, so I anticipate taking their prep course for the MBE. My school has 2 courses that prep you as well, tought by Mr. Marino, so hoping everything will pay off in the end. Not looking forward to paying off the loans and paying for a wedding, with no job offers yet

Thank you very much for the advice ladies, it is greatly appreciated.

Could not agree more. BarBri is the superior overall choice for classes, practice essays, NY state questions, etc. PMBR's CDs and, more importantly, practice exams are great for the multistate.

Don't listen to any of Joe Marino's 'predictions' - they were ALL wrong!!! And PMBR CD's rock! I put them all on my ipod and grew quite fond of them. I miss Robert Feinberg! Haha. Good luck!

I agree with this 100%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I missed that you were planning to take his reviews. Not a single one of his predictions was accurate when I took the bar. NOT ONE.

Agreed! Just put in the time and I'm sure you will do fine... oh, and one more piece of advice, you def should take it, but don't let the PMBR class freak you out! I nearly had a nervous breakdown after it and I ended up doing very well on the multi-state....
