For those who are paying for most of their wedding

What is the proper way of wording for your invitation when you paying for the wedding without hurting anyone's feelings?

I was going to write it 'Together with their parent's....' but FH thought it sounded like our parents were paying for it.

We payed for most of it and our invite said,

Together with their parents,

Alissa

Jimmy

This is how we worded ours. We still wanted to include our parents names:

Kathryn Celia V.
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert and Betty V.
and
Christopher Robin K.
son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Lillian K.
Request the honour of your presence
at their marriage
on Saturday, the twenty seventh of December
two thousand and eight
at three thirty o’clock in the afternoon
The Community Church of East Williston
corner of East Williston Avenue and High Street
East Williston, New York

we are paying for the wedding with no help.....

we did together with their families......

i didnt feel it was necessary to include their names but i didnt want to not acknowledge them at all - plus i just like the way it sounds....i prefer the word families over parents

thankfully - our invite didn't allow for lots of room...so we didn't have that issue....

most people do the whole,

jessica, daughter of ed & diane, blah blah....

I have to say though - that if you say, 'WITH THEIR PARENTS' - that does mean that they are helping to pay....that's what that wording typically stands for.

Since we are an older couple and paying for everything, we wanted to include our parents names. I agree with Jessica.

My mom and I are apying for it. I put all of our parents names b/c I felt bad not putting his parents even though they are not helping one bit.

My parents are contributing some and his parents are both deceased. I went the traditional way.

We paid for it ourselves but we still put our parents names:
Mr. & Mrs xyz
and
Mr & Mrs xyz
invite you ....

It's really up to what you prefer.

if you go to http://www.finestationery.com/ and pick any wedding invite, and then click, personalize they suggest wording...maybe that would also be helpful? it gives you options depending on who is hosting the event. HTH!
